Garmin’s navigation technology and Agilis’ mobile workforce management software technology will increase mobile worker productivity
St. Louis, December 20, 2006 — Agilis Systems, a St. Louis-based software developer of innovative location-based workforce management and communications solutions, and Garmin International, Inc. today announced an agreement to provide mobile workers with advanced navigation capabilities. The deal allows Agilis to integrate Garmin’s audible turn-by-turn navigation system (Garmin LBS Toolkit™) into Agilis’ mobile work order management system to provide proven navigation to mobile workers as they drive to their next job or location.
"Our goal is to help our customers maximize mobile worker productivity while dramatically enhancing communications with their customers. A major challenge for mobile workers is finding their next job or appointment while avoiding traffic jams. If a driver gets lost or stuck in traffic, customers experience delays" said Dan Huber, President. It will help reduce the time a customer has to wait for a service person from hours to minutes, as well as reduce overall driving time, fuel and vehicle maintenance costs."
When a dispatcher assigns a job in the Agilis Work Order Management system to a mobile worker’s phone, the worker can receive audible turn-by-turn directions from their current location to the job site with a simple push of a button. Upcoming street names are announced by Garmin’s navigation technology so workers can keep their eyes on the road. If the worker misses a turn, a new route is automatically recalculated.
